Deborah Crawford
Chatham-Kent (Pain Court)


Deborah Crawford is a Superintendent of Education at the St. Clair Catholic District School Board, overseeing Special Education, Mental Health and Well-being, and Student Achievement in Chatham-Kent and Sarnia/Lambton. Deb has worked in both the elementary and secondary panels as a teacher and principal. As the lead for the Safe and Inclusive Schools and Equity and Inclusive Education initiatives, Deb sits on many multi-agency committees and working groups, such as “Working Together for Children’s Mental Health”, the “Special Needs Strategy Steering Committee”, and the “FIRST Strategy Chatham-Kent”. 

Deb has served as the President of the Ontario Catholic Supervisory Officer’s Association and has been a member of a number of provincial committees, most recently the “Minister of Education’s Advisory Committee on Well-Being”, the “Provincial Committee on Ministry Initiatives”, and the “Transformation Table on Collaborative Professionalism”. 

Deb graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University, Toronto, obtained her Master of Education from Brock University and has completed the Leadership and Strategic Impact program at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Deb is a member of the Canadian Association of School System Administrators, the Canadian Education Association, and the International Leadership Association. 

Deb has served as a Director on the Board of the Chatham-Kent United Way, is a member of the Women’s Leadership Committee and leads the school board’s employee campaign for the United Way in Chatham-Kent and Sarnia/Lambton. As a member of the steering committee for the “Community Threat Assessment Protocol”, Deb collaborates with a broad representation of community partners to reduce risks and support student safety and well-being. An avid music fan, Deb is a member of the Chatham Cultural Centre Chorale. Deb and Bob have three adult children, and when not involved in their community endeavours, enjoy theatre, travel, skiing, and hiking.
