Community Engagement is both a legislated responsibility and a core function of the LHINs. Local decision-making is the model that the LHINs are built on, and one that values the input of community members, health care professionals, and stakeholders to inform our planning and decision-making processes.
These guidelines complement the community engagement that the ESC LHIN has already undertaken, and will further ESC LHIN accountability and transparency.
Annual Community Engagement Plan
As part of the Annual Business Plan, all Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs) are required to publish a plan for community engagement that is updated on an annual basis. The plan is intended to provide the community with an overview of activities planned within the fiscal year.
