Ontario & LHIN Patient and Family Advisory Councils (PFAC)

Provincial Patient and Family Advisory Council

The provincial Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) will support improved patient experiences and facilitate more proactive patient participation in ministry-led initiatives during the policy development process.

The council will involve patients, families, and caregivers in the policy development process, ensuring that their needs and concerns are understood, and will help the health system become more responsive, transparent and accountable. Members of the council will be chosen through an open public process and will represent Ontarians from across the province.

LHIN Patient and Family Advisory Committees

The development of patient and family advisory committees in all 14 LHINs will help to ensure that local priorities and local health system issues are addressed in collaboration with patients and their families in order to support regional system planning.
