Van at the heart of seniors lives
Checking in with the Aging @ Home initiative

This past July, 100 new shiny-white Grand Caravans rolled off the line of Windsor’s Chrysler Minivan Plant. The vans, purchased by the Provincial Government as part of the Aging @ Home initiative, were destined to make their way to community organizations, providing services that enrich the lives of seniors.

A System Approach to Urgent Bed Shortages

In February 2008, the Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network (ESC LHIN) encountered a challenge: two major hospitals in Windsor/Essex were facing an urgent bed shortage. A solution was needed – and quickly. But how could the situation be resolved when no beds were available in the hospital and none were available in the community at Long-Term Care facilities?
