proposed changes to health care
CHATHAM-KENT – On December 17, 2015, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) released Patients First: A Proposal to Strengthen Patient-Centred Health Care in Ontario, a discussion paper that outlines proposed changes for the health care system. The proposed structural changes would see Local Health Integration Networks assume responsibility for home and community care, system integration, and have greater involvement with primary care, and improved linkages with population health planning.
The MOHLTC has asked the Erie St. Clair LHIN to collect feedback on the Proposal, which has four main components:
- More effective integration of services and greater equity
- Timely access to primary care, and seamless links between primary care and other services
- More consistent and accessible home and community care
- Stronger links between population and public health and other health services
Residents across our region are encouraged to visit our website at www.eriestclairlhin.on.ca to review the discussion paper, view a presentation, and provide input to the proposal by completing the following survey by 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2016: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8NN6RHY
