Community Nursing Clinics Opening in Leamington and Amherstburg

The opening of two new flex nursing clinics means care will be available closer to home for patients within the Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network (ESC LHIN).

New clinics are now open in Leamington at 194 Talbot Street West and in Amherstburg at 71 Sandwich Street South. These flex clinics provide nursing services including Intravenous (IV) treatments and wound care. It is important to note these are not walk-in clinics. They are specifically for ESC LHIN home and community care patients with scheduled appointments.

Saint Elizabeth Health Care, who is providing and managing operations of the clinics, has a strong, long-standing reputation for delivering exceptional nursing care at home and in the community. Saint Elizabeth currently operates about 30 similar flex clinics across Ontario.

Flex nursing clinics are located in smaller communities with lower patient volumes and provide the flexibility to schedule an appointment that works for the patient and the nurse. Appointments can be arranged to accommodate a patient’s other appointments or errands, or a nurse’s other home visits in that community.

“The Erie St. Clair LHIN is always looking for ways to bring care closer to home for the patients we support. These new clinics provide the opportunity for some of our existing patients currently travelling to our Windsor clinic to receive treatment much closer to home. Working with Saint Elizabeth Health Care, we are promoting stronger relationships throughout the health system while making home and community care services more accessible for patients.”
